MindfulBear provides specialist counselling services for children and teens aged 5-18 years old, with over 30 years of combined child therapy experience. Founded by Chua Sze Siong, an ex-MOE school counsellor and therapeutic intervention specialist, the centre has helped over 5,000 children and teens.
MindfulBear uses an innovative 4A Method that integrates play therapy, motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), and mindfulness techniques. This approach addresses the root causes of behavioural issues by identifying and changing learnt negative beliefs. The four stages—Awareness, Activation, Adjustment, and Advancement—work together to create lasting positive change in children's behaviour.
The centre specialises in helping children who display challenging behaviours such as hyperactivity, difficulty concentrating, and emotional regulation issues. Services begin with a comprehensive 60-minute screening session to identify underlying social, behavioural, and emotional issues, followed by targeted therapy interventions customised to each child's needs.
